Umbro ARP

As a collection that honors some of the English label’s most iconic footwear from the ‘90s, Umbro’s Advanced Research Project (ARP) is a nostalgic deep dive into their archives.

Back in the day, Umbro shot to fame thanks to a decade of sitting on the chests of some of the world’s biggest soccer players. Brazil’s national team won the ‘94 FIFA World Cup in Umbro-clad gear and four years later, Manchester United spent their ‘98-99 season rocking the brand when they dominated the English Premier League, FA Cup, and UEFA Champions League.

Now, Umbro’s ARP collection is bringing a wave of retro revivalism to streetwear with three of their ‘90s footwear silhouettes: The Runner M, Neptune, and Exert Max.

The mesh-lined, leather-paneled shoes flooded Instagram from fashion tastemakers hailing from coast to coast. They’ve rotated the kicks into their wardrobes around the globe from the East Coast to West Coast to London and everywhere in between.
